
Kolkata, April 23, 2026: JIS College of Engineering successfully organized its annual technical festival, JISTech2K26, at its Kalyani campus, bringing together bright minds and cutting-edge ideas from across the region.
The two-day event witnessed participation from 33 educational institutions, with an impressive 283 projects competing across multiple technical domains. The festival focused on fostering innovative solutions to socio-environmental and industrial challenges, highlighting the growing role of technology in addressing real-world issues.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. S. M. Ali, Executive Secretary of Indian Society for Technical Education, who attended as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Prof. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor of JIS University, and Prof. Debashis De from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.
The event was further elevated by the presence of Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, and Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group, whose addresses प्रेरित students to push the boundaries of innovation and technological excellence.
JISTech2K26 featured a wide spectrum of competitions and activities, including Game O’ Fun, Code-Fluenza (coding), App-e-Teaser, Science Quiz, Robotics, B-Plan & Start-up Proposals, and Dig-CAD. These events provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their expertise in programming, design, and problem-solving.
Participants presented projects centered around contemporary themes such as AI-enabled smart systems, disaster management, advanced healthcare technologies, robotics and IoT automation, sustainable engineering, and tech-driven management solutions. These innovations reflected a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches and practical applicability.
Over 20 industry experts evaluated the projects, ensuring fair assessment and valuable industry-oriented feedback. Their insights helped participants better align their innovations with real-world demands.
With a prize pool of ₹2.5 lakhs, strong industry-academia engagement, and high-quality project presentations, JISTech2K26 stood out as a vibrant hub of creativity and technical brilliance.
