
Kolkata, 24 August 2026: Bandhan Bank marked its 11th Anniversary with a significant milestone in its growth journey, launching its 2,000th branch in Egmore, Chennai. With the new branch, the Bank’s total number of banking outlets across India has reached 6,400, strengthening its presence across urban, semi-urban and rural markets.
The milestone places Bandhan Bank among the top three private sector banks in India by branch network, reflecting its continued focus on expanding access to banking services and deepening financial inclusion across the country.
Alongside the branch expansion, the Bank also unveiled mBandhan Lite, a simplified mobile banking application specifically designed for microfinance customers. The app aims to make digital banking more accessible, intuitive and inclusive for customers.
Key features of mBandhan Lite include Aadhaar-based onboarding, account tracking, loan repayment facilities, access to statements and certificates, chatbot assistance, and multilingual support in English, Hindi and Bengali.
The twin initiatives highlight Bandhan Bank’s strategy of strengthening both its physical and digital banking footprint. While the 2,000th branch marks the continued expansion of its nationwide network, mBandhan Lite is aimed at simplifying digital banking for customers, particularly those in the microfinance segment.

Bandhan Bank is currently present across 35 of India’s 36 states and union territories and serves more than 3.2 crore customers through its network of 6,400 banking outlets.
