
Kolkata, August 25, 2026: Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, hosted Pravesh Utsav 2026, its First Year Students’ Orientation Programme, at the Dhano Dhanyo Auditorium, Kolkata, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for its incoming batch.
The orientation programme brought together an impressive gathering of personalities from cinema, music, education and industry, offering students an enriching platform to gain inspiration, broaden their perspectives and understand the importance of holistic development.
The distinguished guests included Jeet, Indian actor, film producer and television presenter; Rupankar Bagchi, playback singer and music composer; Santanu Moitra, music director, score composer and musician, who joined virtually; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Bidyut Majumder, Deputy Director, Business Development, JIS Group; and Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.

A key highlight of Pravesh Utsav 2026 was the interaction between the distinguished guests and the newly admitted students. Drawing on their diverse professional journeys, the speakers shared valuable insights on perseverance, creativity, discipline, passion and commitment to one’s aspirations.
The engaging interactions encouraged students to look beyond conventional academic learning and develop broader perspectives on personal growth, professional excellence, innovation and lifelong learning.
