Zee 24 Ghanta Brings Bengal's Global Success Story to Viewers with London Mahotsav 2026 Special

Kolkata: Strengthening its commitment to showcasing Bengal’s achievements on the global stage, Zee 24 Ghanta presented a special two-part programme featuring the Bengal British Icon Awards at the British Parliament, London, and London Mahotsav 2026, one of the largest celebrations of Bengali culture in the United Kingdom.

Held in June 2026 at the SattavisPatidar Centre, Wembley, the two-day London Mahotsav attracted over 3,500 visitors, bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, academicians, authors and members of the Bengali diaspora. As the Associate Media Partner, Zee 24 Ghanta captured the festival’s key moments, highlighting Bengal’s cultural excellence, entrepreneurial achievements and growing global influence.

The first episode showcased the prestigious Bengal British Icon Awards, organised at the British Parliament, London, honouring organisations that have made significant contributions to business, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship. Among the award recipients were Sister Nivedita University, KeoKarpin, University of Engineering & Management (IEM-UEM Group), Go Everywhere Tours & Travels, UVClad HPL Sheets and The Roy’s Homoeopathia.

The programme also featured exclusive interviews with awardees, who shared their inspiring journeys, achievements and vision for expanding Bengal’s presence on the international stage.

The second episode focused on an insightful panel discussion on West Bengal’s emerging business landscape and investment potential. Moderated by Pew Roy, Deputy Editor, Zee 24 Ghanta, the discussion featured leading entrepreneurs, academicians and industry experts, including Kaushik Sarkar (Techno India Group – Sister Nivedita University), Sombuddha Ghosh (Go Everywhere Tours & Travels), Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti (IEM-UEM Group & UEM Kolkata), Pradip Sukul (Deys Medical Stores Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Chinmoy Roy (The Roy’s Homoeopathia) and Ashmon Kumaar (Shreenath Global).

The panel explored opportunities across entrepreneurship, education, tourism and industry while emphasising the importance of policy reforms, infrastructure development, digital transformation, skill development and stronger India–UK business collaboration to accelerate West Bengal’s growth.

The discussion was further enriched by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Virendra Sharma, Former Member of Parliament, UK; Cllr. Amer Agha, Mayor of Brent; Cllr. Yogesh Teli, Mayor of Harrow; and Mrs. Neela Teli, Mayoress of Harrow.

Speaking on the initiative, Raktim Das, CEO, Zee Media Corporation Limited, said that powerful storytelling can strengthen cultural understanding and create meaningful global connections. He described London Mahotsav as a unique platform that bridges nations through culture while encouraging dialogue, collaboration and economic engagement, adding that Zee 24 Ghanta remains committed to showcasing Bengal’s achievements to a global audience.

Sharing his views, Pew Roy, Deputy Editor, Zee 24 Ghanta, said London Mahotsav was more than a cultural festival, as it celebrated stories of entrepreneurship, innovation and community spirit while reflecting the aspirations of Bengalis across the world. He added that the special programme aimed to bring viewers closer to Bengal’s expanding global footprint and future opportunities.

London Mahotsav 2026 celebrated Bengali heritage through music, theatre, literature, cuisine and community engagement while creating a vibrant platform for recognising excellence and promoting cross-border partnerships.

Through initiatives like London Mahotsav, Zee 24 Ghanta continues to reinforce its role in taking Bengal’s stories beyond geographical boundaries, celebrating its culture, people and achievements while strengthening cultural and economic ties between India and the United Kingdom.
