Kolkata: The Indian Small Scale Paint Association (ISSPA) – Eastern Region celebrated its 70th anniversary by hosting its 21st Annual Regional Meeting, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers and entrepreneurs to discuss technology adoption, industrial collaboration, sustainability and the future of MSMEs in India’s paints and coatings sector.
The event was attended by Shri Tapas Ray, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Commerce & Industries Department, Government of West Bengal, and Shri Ajay Kumar Poddar, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Public Works Department, Government of West Bengal. Addressing the gathering, Shri Poddar reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to industrial development, highlighting that entrepreneurs and industrialists are at the heart of West Bengal’s vision to emerge as a leading manufacturing and investment destination.
During the meeting, ISSPA unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the MSME ecosystem through innovation, sustainability and digital transformation. In a significant step towards technological advancement, the Association partnered with AI4BI to help member companies adopt Artificial Intelligence, improve productivity and reduce dependence on repetitive manual processes. It also reinforced business networking through its Member Connect Initiative, designed to foster collaboration and growth among members.
A major highlight of the event was the growing interest from companies in Western and Northern India in exploring long-term contracts, strategic partnerships, acquisitions and business collaborations in Eastern India, underlining the region’s rising importance as an industrial hub.
“As ISSPA completes 70 years of service to the industry, our focus remains on creating new opportunities for MSMEs through technology adoption, sustainability and stronger industry partnerships. We are committed to ensuring our members remain globally competitive while contributing to India’s industrial growth,” said Mr. Harsh Vardhan Rungta, Chairman, ISSPA Eastern Region.
The programme concluded with remarks by Vice Chairman Mr. Aman Luna and Secretary Mr. Vishal Golcha on the impact of the current geopolitical situation on the industry, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Treasurer Mr. Gunjan Shah.
