Harbhajan Singh joins Suresh Raina as Brand Ambassador; Sony Sports Network, Screenox and MyAsia come on board as key partners

Kolkata, September 8, 2026: The Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL) has opened its second season with an ambitious expansion, announcing a nationwide competition featuring 32 teams and 127 matches—nearly three times the size of its inaugural edition.

The announcement was made at a press event in Bengaluru in the presence of cricketing personalities, league officials and the organisation’s newly appointed commercial partners.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Gangadhar Raju, Founder and President of ISCL and the Indian Softball Cricket Foundation (ISCF), said the league’s growth reflects the determination of players from across the country to establish softball cricket as a serious sporting platform.

“Two years ago, we were just trying to get people to take softball cricket seriously. Now we have 32 teams and players from towns most people can’t find on a map. That’s the story of Season 2,” Dr. Raju said.

Harbhajan Singh Joins as Brand Ambassador

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has joined the league as a Brand Ambassador alongside former international cricketer Suresh Raina.

Addressing the gathering, Harbhajan Singh highlighted the opportunities created by the league’s expanded format. He said a larger competition would allow more young players from different parts of the country to showcase their talent and gain visibility.

His association with ISCL is expected to further enhance the league’s profile and connect the emerging sport with a wider cricketing audience.

Sony Sports Network Becomes Official Broadcast Partner

A major development for Season 2 is the entry of Sony Sports Network as the Official Broadcasting Partner. The partnership will bring ISCL matches to a national television audience on a scale not seen in the league’s debut season.

Kaushik Kalluri, AVP-Sony Sports, said the network sees ISCL as a grassroots-driven sporting platform that provides talented players with an opportunity to reach a larger audience.

He added that the partnership aims to increase visibility for the players, teams and the sport while encouraging more young cricketers across India to pursue opportunities in the game.

Screenox and MyAsia Join the League

ISCL has also announced Screenox as its Official Screening Partner, with matches set to be showcased across more than 1,500 screens throughout the country.

Meanwhile, MyAsia has come on board as a Strategy Partner, with a mandate to help ISCL develop into an international league and build a commercially sustainable sporting property.

Representing MyAsia, Noorul Ameen outlined the long-term strategic vision behind the partnership, describing it as a commitment to the future growth of softball cricket rather than a one-season association.

Focus on Professional Growth and Expansion

B. H. Anil Kumar, former IAS officer and Chairman of ISCL Pvt Ltd, along with Vice Chairman Sanjeev Singh, addressed the media on the league’s plans for professionalisation and expansion into new regions.

With a significantly larger team base, 127-match schedule, national broadcasting partnership and a growing commercial ecosystem, ISCL Season 2 represents the league’s biggest step yet towards establishing softball cricket as a mainstream sporting property in India.

The organisers believe the league’s foundation remains its grassroots talent pipeline, with players from towns and emerging sporting centres getting an opportunity to compete on a larger platform.

ISCL Season 2 now enters its next phase with a clear ambition—to take softball cricket from the grassroots to a national audience and eventually establish it as an international sporting league.
