Kolkata, October 16, 2026: Celebrating the artisans who form the backbone of Durga Puja, Polycab India Limited has launched a community-focused initiative to promote electrical safety while preserving Bengal’s rich artistic heritage.
As part of its festive initiative, Polycab has partnered with RJ Praveen to support Polly Pal, wife of late idol-maker Bablu Pal, in preserving her family’s artistic legacy and continuing a tradition deeply rooted in Kolkata’s Durga Puja celebrations.
The initiative reflects Polycab’s brand promise of building “India’s Safe, Happy Connection” by combining cultural storytelling with meaningful community support.
As part of the initiative, Polly Pal’s workshop underwent a comprehensive electrical upgrade overnight. Ageing electrical infrastructure was replaced with Polycab Green Wires, switchgears, strip lights, ceiling fans and switches, creating a safer, brighter and more functional workspace for artisans.
The transformation highlights the importance of the people and workshops behind Bengal’s biggest cultural celebration. Before Durga Puja illuminates the streets of Kolkata, it begins in the workshops where artisans dedicate their time and craftsmanship to creating the idols worshipped by millions.
Commenting on the initiative, Shwetal Basu, Senior Vice President – Brand & Marcom, Polycab India Ltd., said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to purpose-led marketing, electrical safety and community development.
Polycab has also undertaken festive initiatives around regional cultural celebrations, including Ganesh Chaturthi, while collaborating with local creators and influencers to build stronger connections with communities.
Through its Durga Puja initiative, the company aims to go beyond conventional festive marketing by highlighting local stories, supporting traditional craftsmanship and promoting safer working environments.
The initiative celebrates not just Durga Puja, but also the artisans, their heritage and the spaces where every celebration begins.
