NRAI Kolkata Brings Restaurant Industry and Fire Department Together for Fire Safety Compliance Dialogue  Kolkata, Sunday, 4 October 2026: The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Kolkata Chapter, in collaboration with the West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Department, is set to organise Fire Safety Connect 2026 on October 5, bringing restaurant operators and senior Fire Department officials together for a direct dialogue on fire safety compliance.  The initiative aims to provide NRAI members with a platform to discuss specific concerns related to pending fire safety matters, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), renewals, documentation, applications and other regulatory requirements directly with the concerned officials.  Through one-on-one discussions, restaurant operators will be able to present their individual cases, seek clarity on the required procedures and understand the way forward on compliance-related matters.  Speaking about the initiative, Piyush Kankaria, Chapter Head, NRAI Kolkata Chapter, said that fire safety is an important responsibility for every restaurant and that the industry remains committed to complying with prescribed requirements. He added that operators often require clarity on renewals, documentation and other compliance processes, and that Fire Safety Connect is an effort to create a direct channel between the industry and the Fire Department.  The initiative is part of NRAI Kolkata’s broader efforts to promote constructive engagement between the restaurant industry and government authorities on issues affecting the ease of doing business. By bringing stakeholders together, the programme seeks to help restaurant operators better understand regulatory requirements and address compliance-related concerns.  Fire Safety Connect 2026 will be held on October 5, 2026, at 2:45 PM at Desi Lane, 3rd Floor, Metro Cinema, Esplanade, Kolkata. Restaurant operators and senior officials from the West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Department are expected to participate in the discussions.
