Tanishq Unveils ‘Aagomon’ Festive Jewellery Collection Celebrating Bengal’s Srijonis of Notun Bangaliyana Kolkata, October 3, 2026: As Bengal prepares to celebrate Durga Pujo, Tanishq, India’s largest jewellery retail brand from the House of Tata, has unveiled ‘Aagomon’, its latest festive jewellery collection celebrating the arrival of Pujo, Maa Durga and the contemporary Bengali woman stepping into new possibilities. Fronted by popular Bengali actor Mimi Chakraborty, Aagomon draws inspiration from the architectural grandeur of Bengal’s historic Rajbaris. The distinctive arches of these heritage homes have been reimagined as symbols of transition, possibility and new beginnings, reflecting the journeys of contemporary Bengali women who remain connected to their roots while confidently shaping their own futures. The collection translates the visual language of Rajbari architecture into Haarams, Sitahars, Chokers, tie-haars and necklaces. Intricate detailing, contemporary silhouettes and motifs inspired by arch carvings, wrought-iron inlays and wood stucco work bring Bengal’s rich heritage into a modern festive expression. The jewellery has been created for the ‘Srijoni of Notun Bangaliyana’—a woman who carries her roots with pride while embracing new possibilities and defining her own path. At the heart of Aagomon is the idea of the Srijoni—women who carry Bengal’s heritage forward while creating what comes next. Rooted in tradition but not limited by it, these women reinterpret their heritage, challenge conventions and create their own stories. Through Aagomon, Tanishq celebrates this journey of becoming—from tradition to self-expression and from inherited narratives to new perspectives. Speaking about the launch, Pelki Tshering, Chief Marketing Officer, Tanishq, said that the collection reflects the spirit of a woman who embraces tradition while confidently writing her own story. She described Aagomon as being rooted in the emotional ideas of arrival, possibility and becoming, with every design element—from the arches to the intricate detailing—built around this sentiment. Actor Mimi Chakraborty, who fronts the campaign, said the idea behind Aagomon felt deeply personal to her. She noted that Bengali women understand the balance between staying connected to their roots and moving towards something new, adding that being part of the collection felt like an extension of her own journey. Alongside Aagomon, Tanishq has also introduced ‘Srijoni Shomman’, an annual platform aimed at celebrating women across Bengal whose work, ideas, courage and contributions are creating change and opening new possibilities. The initiative is rooted in the spirit of Notun Bangaliyana and seeks to recognise women who have challenged conventions and inspired others through their journeys. The inaugural edition of Srijoni Shomman will feature a distinguished three-member jury comprising Pelki Tshering, Chief Marketing Officer, Tanishq; Mimi Chakraborty, actor and the face of Tanishq’s Bengal campaign; and Nandita Das, acclaimed actor, filmmaker and social advocate. Together, they will identify and honour women from across Bengal whose journeys embody the spirit of the Srijoni. The initiative will culminate in March 2027, leading to a special moment of recognition for women across Bengal.
