
Kolkata is set to witness an evening of artistic brilliance as Bhabna Nritya Shiksha Kendra celebrates its 11th Annual Cultural Festival, “Kabi Pranam 2026,” paying tribute to two of Bengal’s greatest literary icons — Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Organized under the inspiring themes “Nobo Robi Kirone Anjali Loho Mor” and “Smarane Rabindranath, Monane Nazrul,” the event aims to honor the timeless contributions of the legendary poets through music, dance, recitation, and drama.
The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular staging of Rabindranath Tagore’s immortal dance drama “Shyama.” The production features an impressive cast, with renowned Kathak exponent Sreya Das in the titular role of Shyama. Popular film and television actor Rubel Das will portray Bajrasen, while acclaimed dancer Abhirup Sengupta will take on the role of Uttiya.

The entire presentation has been conceived and directed by noted cultural personality Bapi Sadhukha, whose artistic vision brings together tradition and contemporary stagecraft in a unique cultural experience.
Adding star power to the celebration, celebrated actress Sweta Bhattacharya will make a special guest appearance. The programme will be hosted by eminent recitation artist Madhumita Bose, who will guide audiences through the evening’s cultural journey.
With its rich blend of poetry, music, dance, and drama, “Kabi Pranam 2026” promises to be a memorable celebration of Bengal’s literary and cultural heritage, reaffirming the enduring legacy of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
