West Bengal to Host Unique Summit on Culture, Spirituality and Economy

Kolkata, July 10: West Bengal is set to host a first-of-its-kind summit that aims to bring together the pillars of culture, spirituality and economic development under one platform. Ahead of the Maitri Cultural Economy Samiti (MCES) – West Bengal Summit, organisers held an official Curtain Raiser and Press Conference in Kolkata, unveiling the vision and roadmap for a culturally rooted and economically empowered West Bengal.

The summit, scheduled for July 17 in Kolkata, is expected to witness the participation of eminent dignitaries, policymakers, ministry representatives, industry leaders, academicians, cultural icons and spiritual visionaries from across the country.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at the press launch, Shri (Prof.) Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, praised the initiative, describing it as a unique platform that unites academicians, scientists, industry leaders, poets, thinkers and domain experts under a shared vision.

He said such a confluence of knowledge, culture and collective wisdom is vital for building a strong Bharat rooted in its timeless civilisation, values and cultural heritage. He also congratulated Maitreya Dadashreeji, MaitriBodh Parivaar, and the organisers for the initiative.

Highlighting the summit’s broader objective, Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal, National Spokesperson (Economic Affairs), BJP and Patron of MCES, said the initiative seeks to establish a meaningful economic connection with West Bengal’s rich cultural heritage by integrating it into public policy and governance frameworks.

“The vision of the West Bengal Summit is to establish a meaningful economic connection with its cultural heritage by integrating it into public policy frameworks and governance models,” he said.

Representing MaitriBodh Parivaar, Mitra Jeev, a direct disciple of Maitreya Dadashreeji, stressed that lasting national transformation begins with individual transformation.

“True nation-building begins with character-building. At MaitriBodh Parivaar, we are creating an action-oriented movement inspired by Sanskriti and spirituality that empowers every citizen—from children and youth to corporates, farmers and grassroots communities—to contribute to national progress,” he said.

The summit aims to position West Bengal as a key driver of Bharat’s next phase of growth, promoting a development model where cultural heritage, spiritual values and economic progress move forward together.
