
Kolkata, September 10, 2026: TUFCON, the flagship steel brand of Sri Langta Baba Steels Private Limited, has announced an ambitious expansion plan, including a proposed ₹5,500-crore investment in Bihar and new Greenfield steel manufacturing projects in Chakai, Bihar, and Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Kolkata as part of the TUFCON XT initiative, marking the company’s nine-year journey and outlining its vision for the next phase of growth. The event was attended by Chairman & Managing Director Sri Mohan Prasad Saw, Director Sauraj Guptaa, Director Abhishekk Kumaar and Corporate Head Indranil Dutta.
The proposed Chakai project has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar, involving an investment of approximately ₹5,500 crore. Along with the proposed Nagpur Greenfield project, the developments are expected to significantly strengthen TUFCON’s manufacturing capacity and expand its operational footprint across India.
According to the company, the upcoming projects are expected to generate employment opportunities and support the development of ancillary industries, logistics and other supporting businesses in the project regions. TUFCON also plans to focus on new products, modern manufacturing technologies and stronger market penetration as part of its broader expansion strategy.
Speaking at the event, Sri Mohan Prasad Saw, Chairman & Managing Director, Sri Langta Baba Steels Pvt. Ltd., said the proposed investments in Bihar and Nagpur mark the beginning of a significant new chapter for the company. He said TUFCON aims to build an integrated, technology-driven and future-ready manufacturing ecosystem while maintaining a strong focus on quality, operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
The event also featured ‘Sankalp 2026’, highlighting TUFCON’s journey of determination, commitment and collective achievement. The company said that quality, consistency, customer trust and the support of its dealer and distributor network have been central to its growth over the past nine years.
As part of the TUFCON XT celebrations, the company organised a Dealers & Distributors Achievers’ Programme to recognise outstanding channel partners for their contribution and performance.
Actor Tiger Shroff, who has been associated with TUFCON as its brand ambassador since the inception of the brand, also remains an important part of the company’s brand identity.
