Kolkata, September 14: The Shri Shri Siddhidata Ganesh Puja, organised by Ezra Street Nabajubak Nagarik Sangha, commenced with great enthusiasm on September 14 at the Electric Market area of Ezra Street in Kolkata. The three-day religious and cultural celebration has brought a festive atmosphere to the locality, with residents, devotees and visitors participating in the various programmes organised as part of the occasion.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of local BJP leader Santosh Kumar Pathak, along with members and office-bearers of the organising committee. Devotees gathered at the venue to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The celebrations have been marked by religious devotion, community participation and a vibrant festive atmosphere in the Electric Market area.
According to the organisers, the Ganesh Puja has been celebrated in the area for more than a decade. The event is being organised under the leadership of President Umakant Agarwal, Working President Kushal Pandey and General Secretary Pawan Pandey. The organisers said that the continued support and collective participation of members and local residents have helped the puja grow into an annual community celebration.
This year, the celebrations are being held from September 14 to September 16. Along with the traditional Ganesh Puja, a series of religious and cultural programmes have been arranged throughout the three-day celebration. The schedule includes Sunderkand Path, Mahabhog, Prasad distribution and Jagran, among other activities.
The organisers have also made arrangements for devotees visiting the puja venue during the celebrations. Devotees have been participating in the rituals and offering flowers and prayers at the shrine of Siddhivinayak. The religious programmes have created an atmosphere of devotion among those attending the celebrations.
The organisational team includes several members who have been involved in the planning and management of the annual event. Manish Thakkar, Rajesh Rathi and Anand Sinha Pintu are part of the organisation’s Advisory Body, while Manoj Ojha is serving as the Treasurer.
The three-day Ganesh Puja has once again turned the Electric Market area of Ezra Street into a festive gathering point. The presence of devotees and local residents throughout the celebrations reflects the continued enthusiasm surrounding the annual event.
