Howrah, July 2025: The Rotary Club of Howrah, a well-known and respected name in the field of community service, has appointed Mr. Shankar Kumar Sanyal as its 78th President. Staying true to its legacy, the club has once again ushered in a new leadership team, aiming to further amplify the impact of its social initiatives.
To mark the occasion, a grand installation ceremony was held on Monday at 7 PM at the ‘Kathakali’ auditorium in Achipur, Howrah. The event was graced by numerous club members, distinguished guests, and eminent social personalities.
Among the chief guests were former Sports Minister Mr. Lakshmi Ratan Shukla, former Judge Mr. Deepak Saha Roy, Rotary District Governor Dr. Ramaindu Hom Choudhury, outgoing President Mrs. Gopa Ganguly, current Secretary Mr. Santu Banerjee, and President of the Kolkata Press Club Mr. Sanhasis Sur.
In his first address as President, Mr. Shankar Kumar Sanyal expressed his vision of taking the club’s community service to greater heights. He also laid out the blueprint for upcoming programs and initiatives that will drive the club’s mission forward.
Following the formal proceedings, guests were treated to a lavish dinner reception, which added a warm and celebratory tone to the evening. The organizers’ request for punctuality was appreciated by all attendees, contributing to the event’s smooth and successful execution.
With Mr. Sanyal at the helm, the Rotary Club of Howrah enters a new chapter, committed to driving meaningful change and expanding its footprint in the realm of social service.
