Kolkata, May 18, 2026:
In a significant step towards strengthening specialised paediatric healthcare in Eastern India, Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre has launched a dedicated Child Development Centre (CDC) at its New Town facility as part of its ongoing paediatric multispecialty expansion.
The newly inaugurated centre aims to address the growing burden of developmental, neurological and behavioural disorders among children by offering integrated and multidisciplinary developmental care under one roof. The initiative forms a key component of the hospital’s 220-bed paediatric multispecialty expansion programme.
The centre was launched in the presence of a multidisciplinary clinical team led by Dr. Indrasish Ray Chaudhuri, Consultant in Paediatric Neurology, and Dr. Debapriya Roy, Associate Consultant in Paediatric Neurology, both bringing specialised expertise in the diagnosis and management of paediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.
Recognising the increasing prevalence of neurodevelopmental conditions in India and the limited availability of comprehensive developmental care outside major metropolitan cities, the hospital has designed the Child Development Centre as a continuum-of-care model for children aged 0 to 18 years.
The centre integrates screening, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation and long-term developmental support through a coordinated, child-centric approach. It brings together a multidisciplinary team comprising paediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and special educators to deliver holistic developmental care.
The Child Development Centre offers advanced diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, neurorehabilitation, innovative therapies and family-centred support services including counselling, caregiver training and structured long-term developmental planning. Designed as a safe and sensory-friendly environment, the facility supports children facing developmental delays, neurological disorders, scholastic challenges and behavioural concerns while also empowering families and caregivers with specialised guidance and support.
Speaking on the occasion, Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited, said that child development requires a long-term and coordinated care model that extends beyond episodic treatment. He stated that the new centre combines clinical expertise, therapy, rehabilitation and family engagement to support children across every stage of development, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to strengthening specialised paediatric healthcare infrastructure in Eastern India.
With a strong emphasis on early diagnosis, timely intervention and family participation, the Child Development Centre aspires to emerge as a regional centre of excellence in paediatric developmental care. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards improving developmental outcomes, enhancing caregiver awareness and creating more inclusive healthcare pathways for neurodiverse children across the region.
Established in 2002, Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre has remained a trusted institution dedicated exclusively to maternal, women and child healthcare, continuing its legacy of specialised medical care under the philosophy of “Caring About Your Care.”
