Kolkata, May 21, 2026: A grand two-day National and International Natural Iron Lifting and Bodybuilding Championship was successfully organized at the Lake Town Mukta Mancha in Kolkata on May 16 and 17. The prestigious event was jointly hosted by the World Natural Athlete Federation, International Iron Lifting Federation, and Ashok Akhara Ek Byayam Mandir.
Competitors from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and various districts of West Bengal participated in the championship, while international athletes from Nepal and Bangladesh also marked their presence alongside Indian contestants. More than 100 participants took part in the two-day mega sporting event, making it one of the major natural bodybuilding and iron lifting competitions in the region.
The championship was judged by noted personalities including Partha Chand, Sukumar Das, Rajib Banerjee, Pritha Chand, and Ashok Kumar. Distinguished guests present at the occasion included Ratan Saha, Bijoy Singh, Sarforaz Akram, and Tilak Sen.
The event also witnessed the auspicious launch ceremony of the upcoming film Mr. Universe, presented by Raj Entertainment Production. The movie will feature Bollywood and Tollywood actor and fitness icon Ashokraj in the lead role. Other cast members include Amisharaj, Ayesharaj, and child artist Amarraj among others.
During the Global Strongman Championship segment, certificates were awarded to several individuals for their contributions as instructors and observers, with Sayandeep Sardar and Shyamal Shil being among the notable recipients.
The entire championship was officially managed by Maheswari Barui, Soujanya Dhar, Ayesharaj, and Amisharaj. Organizer Ashokraj honored the officials on stage with blazers, ties, and badges on behalf of the organization.
Speaking to the media, Ashokraj emphasized that the entire competition was conducted with “100 percent natural standards.” Winners of the championship were felicitated with trophies and awards by journalist Gopal Debnath and other distinguished guests present at the event.
