Siliguri, July 18: JIS Group Educational Initiatives successfully organised the JIS Education Expo 2026 – Siliguri Edition, bringing together students, parents, educators and academic leaders for one of Eastern India’s largest education expos.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shankar Ghosh, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge of Parliamentary Affairs & Tourism, Government of West Bengal, in the presence of Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, Bidyut Majumdar, Deputy Director (Business Development), JIS Group, and other senior officials.
More than 1,200 students from 65 schools across North Bengal, Siliguri and nearby areas participated in the one-day event. The Expo featured 39 institutions offering 185 academic programmes, providing students with detailed information on diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses through interactive counselling sessions and institutional stalls.
A major attraction of the Expo was the felicitation of over 1,200 Class X and Class XII toppers from schools across the region. The ceremony recognised academic excellence and encouraged students to pursue higher education with confidence.
The Expo also hosted one-on-one career counselling sessions, expert interactions and hands-on workshops, where students received guidance on stream selection, career planning, admission procedures and emerging career opportunities aligned with future industry requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, said that the Expo has become a meaningful platform connecting students with quality education and informed career guidance. He added that the overwhelming response from North Bengal reflects the Group’s commitment to nurturing young talent beyond metropolitan cities and creating opportunities for the next generation of leaders and innovators.
