JBCH Leads Inspiring Awareness Walk with Recovered Joint Replacement Patients in Kolkata

Reaffirming its commitment to holistic bone and joint health, Joint & Brain Care Hospital (JBCH) today organised a powerful Awareness Walk in Kolkata, bringing together patients who have successfully recovered from total hip and knee replacement surgeries. The initiative stood as a celebration of resilience, medical excellence, and renewed mobility.

The walk witnessed enthusiastic participation from patients who overcame severe bone and joint disorders, symbolising triumph over physical limitations and inspiring many to prioritise timely orthopaedic care. The event aimed to spread awareness about bone health, early medical intervention, and the life-changing impact of advanced joint replacement procedures.

Leading the initiative, Dr Joydeep Banerjee Choudhury, Director, JBCH, along with eminent footballers Goutam Banerjee Choudhury, Ranjit Mukherjee, and Samaresh Chowdhury, joined the walkathon to motivate participants and highlight the importance of physical fitness and proactive healthcare.

“The overwhelming response to this walkathon reflects the courage of patients who refused to surrender to deformity and pain. Modern joint replacement surgeries, backed by advanced technology and skilled surgeons, have transformed lives. This initiative reinforces the need for awareness, early diagnosis, and immediate medical care to ensure long-term bone health and overall well-being,” said Dr Joydeep Banerjee Choudhury.

The awareness walk was followed by an engaging interactive session titled ‘Bone and Joint Care: Recent Trends and the Road Ahead’, where Dr Choudhury shed light on the latest innovations in orthopaedics, evolving treatment methodologies, and ongoing research in bone and joint care. He also addressed common myths related to joint injuries, the necessity and timing of surgery, and the crucial role surgical intervention plays in improving longevity and quality of life.

Participants shared inspiring recovery journeys, reinforcing the message that with the right medical guidance, resilience, and determination, patients can return to active and healthy lives.
