Kolkata, 25 June 2025: In a pioneering effort to bridge the rural healthcare divide, the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development (iLEAD) has launched a groundbreaking AI-driven telemedicine initiative in the Sundarbans region of West Bengal. The project marks a significant leap in delivering critical healthcare services to underserved and remote communities.

Equipped with AI-powered diagnostic tools, the students facilitated on-the-spot medical testing for vital health parameters such as blood pressure, blood sugar, body weight, and ECG.
The AI system instantly analyzed the results, offering accurate diagnoses and recommending treatment plans — including lifestyle adjustments, fitness regimens, and medications — all under the supervision of remotely connected medical experts.
This forward-thinking model has not only empowered aspiring healthcare professionals with hands-on experience but also showcased the potential of AI and telehealth in transforming healthcare delivery in rural India. The early success of the project has encouraged iLEAD to propose a broader collaboration with the Medical Council for potential national implementation.
“Our AI-powered telemedicine initiative is a testament to how technology and innovation can directly impact lives,” said an iLEAD spokesperson. “We are excited about the potential to scale
