Malabar Gold & Diamonds Crosses 400 Showrooms Globally, Targets INR 78,000 Crore Turnover with Massive Expansion Plans

Kolkata, 25 June 2025: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the world’s largest jewellery retailers, has reached a remarkable milestone with the launch of its 400th showroom, inaugurated in Sector 18, Noida. This milestone is part of the group’s aggressive global expansion strategy, which aims to significantly increase its turnover to over $9 billion (INR 78,000 crore) in the current financial year.

The group currently boasts a turnover of INR 63,000 crore and a footprint in 13 countries. Its ambitious roadmap includes opening 60 new showrooms, expanding its presence to 15 countries, and strengthening its network across 22 Indian states and 3 Union Territories. A substantial investment of over INR 5,000 crore has been earmarked to support this growth.

Malabar’s expansion drive is also focused on job creation, with plans to grow its global workforce to nearly 27,250 professionals, generating an additional 3,500 direct employment opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. M.P. Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Group, said, “The 400th showroom is a significant milestone in our journey to become the No. 1 global jewellery retailer. Mr. Asher O, Managing Director – India Operations, noted that India remains Malabar’s strongest market. “We’re expanding aggressively across existing and new territories and aim to establish a presence in 22 states and 3 Union Territories by the end of this fiscal year.”

Mr. Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director – International Operations, revealed that the brand is set to enter new global markets including New Zealand and Ireland, growing its international presence to 15 countries.
