Kolkata, September 30, 2026: A special religious programme was organised today in honour of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA), popularly known as Gaus-e-Azam Dastgir, by the Syed Mir Mosque and Mazar Committee in association with social worker Mohammad Firoz. The programme witnessed the participation of several religious personalities, social workers and dignitaries.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mohammad Zarif, former Imam of Firdous Mosque. The proceedings were conducted by Hafiz Ehsan Raza Rizvi. Renowned Naat reciters Parvez Akhtar Habibi, Anwar Ali Qadri and Ashraf Banarasi presented devotional compositions in praise of Gaus-e-Azam.
The chief guest, Hazrat Pir-e-Tariqat Maulana Syed Abdul Wadud of Uttar Pradesh, delivered a religious address highlighting the spiritual stature and teachings associated with Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA). During his speech, he made several claims regarding the spiritual powers attributed to Gaus-e-Azam, including the belief that he possessed the ability to revive the deceased.
The event was attended by Qayum Khan, Badru Doza Ansari, social worker Javed Akhtar, Mohammad Naeem, Mohammad Imran, Imtiyaz Ansari, Nasim Akhtar and several other distinguished guests. At the conclusion of the programme, Langar and Shirin were distributed among the attendees.
The successful organisation of the programme was supported by the efforts of Mohammad Shehzada Ansari, Mohammad Firoz Ansari, Raja Ansari and Mohammad Hamid. Mohammad Muslim, Secretary of the Mazar and Mosque Committee, expressed his gratitude to all the guests, participants and members of the community for attending and contributing to the success of the programme.
