Kolkata, 15 May 2026: The Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI), in association with the Association of Professional Academic Institutions (APAI), West Bengal, successfully organised a high-level One-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Kolkata on the theme “Strengthening Institutional Quality, Accreditation & Ranking Performance.” The programme brought together leading academicians, administrators, faculty members, and IQAC teams from reputed institutions across West Bengal.

The event emerged as a significant platform for discussing institutional excellence, quality assurance, accreditation frameworks, and national ranking strategies in higher education. Several eminent education leaders and industry experts attended the programme, including Sardar Taranjit Singh, President of APAI and Managing Director of JIS Group, along with senior representatives from EPSI, IIT Madras, KPMG India, BLDE, Meritto, and JIS University.

The FDP focused on crucial academic and institutional development areas such as NBA and NIRF frameworks, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), institutional ranking strategies, and maintaining transparency and accuracy in institutional data submissions. Experts provided detailed insights into improving accreditation outcomes and strengthening quality benchmarks through strategic planning and governance practices.

A special session on Data Privacy, Governance & Compliance in Higher Education highlighted the implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Speakers discussed institutional responsibilities, cybersecurity practices, risk management, and the growing importance of data governance in modern educational systems.

The programme also played an important role in strengthening the operational effectiveness of Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs) while encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing among participating institutions. Attendees described the FDP as highly informative and relevant to the rapidly evolving higher education ecosystem.

Addressing the gathering, Sardar Taranjit Singh stated that the initiative reflects a strong commitment toward enhancing institutional quality frameworks in India. He emphasised that such focused programmes are essential for helping institutions adapt to changing accreditation standards, improve governance systems, and achieve greater national and global recognition.

The successful organisation of the FDP reaffirmed EPSI and APAI’s dedication to promoting academic excellence, institutional innovation, and quality-driven educational reforms across the country.
