Eastern India’s Manufacturing Surge to be Spotlight at Kolkata Machine Tools Show

Kolkata | April 30, 2026: Eastern India’s growing prominence as a manufacturing hub will be in sharp focus at the Kolkata Machine Tools Show 2026 (KMTS 2026), scheduled from May 8 to May 11 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan.

Organised by K and D Communication Limited, the four-day exhibition is expected to bring together leading manufacturers, technology providers, industry experts, and key decision-makers on a single platform. The event aims to strengthen industrial collaboration and tap into emerging opportunities as eastern India continues to expand its manufacturing footprint.

KMTS 2026 will showcase a wide range of advanced manufacturing technologies, including machine tool cutting and forming solutions, precision and hand tools, robotics and automation, electrical and electronic systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding technologies, industrial lubricants, and testing and measuring instruments.

The exhibition will also feature key segments such as material handling equipment, surface finishing, tube and pipe technologies, industrial safety solutions, and CAD-CAM software, reflecting the rapid shift towards smart and automated manufacturing processes. Industry observers believe the event will serve as an important launchpad for new products and innovations.

A broad spectrum of industries is expected to be represented, including automobiles and auto components, capital goods, casting and forging, infrastructure, and process plant machinery. Other sectors such as agriculture and food processing, oil and gas equipment, plastic processing, railway and defence manufacturing, steel and heavy engineering, telecom, and textile machinery will also play a significant role.

With states like West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh witnessing steady industrial growth—particularly in steel, mining, and power—KMTS 2026 is seen as a catalyst for regional development and cross-sector collaboration.

The event is likely to attract a diverse audience comprising industry professionals, engineers, procurement heads, plant managers, MSMEs, and large-scale manufacturers. Participation from academic institutions, research organisations, and government bodies is also expected, promoting knowledge exchange and innovation.

Leveraging Kolkata’s strategic location and proximity to key ports such as Haldia, the exhibition offers strong connectivity to both domestic and international markets. Experts suggest the show could play a vital role in strengthening supply chains and boosting investments across eastern India.

Headquartered in Ahmedabad, K and D Communication Limited is among India’s leading organisers of trade fairs and investment summits. With over three decades of experience, the company has organised more than 100 events and built a strong network of exhibitors and visitors across the country.

KMTS 2026 is expected to mark a significant milestone in India’s manufacturing journey by bringing together technology, talent, and business opportunities under one roof.
