Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Crompton), one of India’s leading consumer electrical companies, has announced a significant milestone with its first major solar rooftop order worth ₹52 crore in Telangana. This marks the company’s strategic foray into the rapidly expanding solar rooftop market, estimated at ₹20,000–₹25,000 crore and growing at over 20% annually.
The order signals Crompton’s commercial debut in the solar rooftop segment and underscores its growing focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. Leveraging its trusted brand, robust distribution network, and scalable capabilities, Crompton aims to strengthen its position as a credible player in India’s renewable energy ecosystem.
This move aligns with the company’s broader strategic vision to expand its Total Addressable Market (TAM) from ₹75,000–₹1,00,000 crore to ₹2,00,000 crore. The solar pumps and solar rooftops categories together represent a substantial opportunity of ₹40,000–₹50,000 crore, offering Crompton a strong platform for accelerated growth. The company has already recorded solid momentum in the solar pumps business, supported by large orders and a healthy project pipeline.
