Colours, Couture & Community Mark Grand Pre-Holi Celebration at ‘Rang Mahotsav 2.0’ in North Kolkata

Kolkata: In a vibrant prelude to Holi, RP Welfare Trust, in collaboration with leading cultural and creative partners, hosted “Rang Mahotsav 2.0” at Shree Vishudhanand Saraswati Vidyalay, transforming North Kolkata into a lively hub of colours, couture and community spirit.

Conceived as a grand Pre-Holi celebration, the event seamlessly blended culture, fashion, music and eco-friendly festivities, setting the tone for the upcoming festival of colours. Beginning at 11:30 AM and continuing till 5:00 PM, the school grounds evolved into a carnival-like arena filled with music, laughter and vibrant splashes of herbal abir, promoting a safe and environmentally conscious celebration.

The event was supported by Iconic Event Planner, Voice Take Studio, Flick Entertainment, FPS, Taption Media, Riwk Film Production, Go Live Story, Mullick Consultant Services, Lassya, Karma Social and Welfare Trust, Jaiswal Caterer, Authnik Boutique and celebrity designer Irani Mitra, reflecting strong collaboration across creative and social platforms.

A key highlight of the afternoon was the grand fashion show, which drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Participants including Lipika Ankura, Mitali Bhattacharya, Bhawani Mahli, Akash Bharti, Rehan Kabir, Sattwata Mukherjee, Subhadip Chatterjee, Ashika Mukherjee, Lipika Maji and Poonam Basu graced the ramp with poise and confidence. The collections, curated by Irani Mitra along with designer Sucheta Ghosh of Authnik Boutique, elegantly fused ethnic aesthetics with contemporary flair, complementing the festive Holi ambience. Makeup artistry by Sampa Bariyal further elevated the glamour quotient of the showcase.

Cultural performances added depth and vibrancy to the celebration. From young talents making confident stage appearances to captivating acts by Abortan Dance Group, each performance resonated with enthusiasm and preparation. The air filled with bursts of colourful herbal abir, creating a picturesque Pre-Holi atmosphere that delighted attendees of all age groups.

Live band performances infused rhythmic energy into the venue, followed by an electrifying DJ session that transformed the grounds into a spirited dance floor. Guests joyfully participated in the playful yet graceful exchange of herbal colours, embodying the essence of Holi—unity, harmony and shared celebration.

A delectable spread of food and refreshments curated by Jaiswal Caterer ensured a wholesome festive experience for all present.

The event was graced by members of RP Welfare Trust and distinguished guests including Shubhashis Roy, Sanjay Bakshi, Smita Bakshi, Joy Bakshi, Mallar Ghosh, Mallika Ghosh, Sanjay Roy, Nandini Bhattacharya, Nitu Saha, Rohit Joy Roy, Sujan Pal, Mohsin Box, Roshan Jaiswal, Priyanku Pandey, Dinesh Jaiswal, Rik Jaiswal, Sumita Roy, Sucharita Pal, Remo and Sagar Sinha, among others. The programme was seamlessly anchored and coordinated by Mrityunjay Roy, whose articulate hosting ensured a smooth flow of proceedings.

More than an entertainment spectacle, “Rang Mahotsav 2.0” stood out as a meaningful Pre-Holi celebration underscoring eco-conscious festivities and community bonding. As the sun set over North Kolkata, the vibrant hues of herbal abir lingered in the air—symbolising harmony, togetherness and the promise of a joyous Holi season ahead.
