Kolkata, 15 November 2025 :
BIA formally announced the launch of its School of Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art institute offering professional training in acting, modelling, filmmaking, photography, and cinematography. Situated in Chinar Park, the academy features an expansive 11,000 sq. ft. campus equipped with advanced technical infrastructure designed to groom the next generation of creative and media professionals.
The first academic session commenced in January. To kickstart the admission process, BIA organised a special Film Acting Workshop conducted by National Award-winning filmmaker Atanu Ghosh. Aspirants received firsthand training from the acclaimed director known for landmark films such as Mayurakshi, Angshumaner Chhobi, Abby Sen, Bini Sutoy, and Sesh Pata. The workshop provided participants with rare insights into screen acting, craft development, and the cinematic creative process. Students attending the workshop were enrolled upon its completion.
The academy is spearheaded by Director Iban Banerjea, international model and industry professional, along with Chief Mentor Tuhinaa Pandey, former Mrs. India title holder and experienced administrator. Their vision focuses on nurturing emerging talent and preparing students for real-life careers across creative industries.
Adding to its strengths, BIA operates its own production house—Being Iban Entertainment—ensuring students receive hands-on project exposure, content creation opportunities, and initial placement support upon graduation.
