KOLKATA, OCTOBER 31, 2026: In a unique effort to preserve and promote Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, age-old traditions and folklore, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor continues to take initiatives to revive the customs and practices that are gradually disappearing from Bengali society. With changing times and the growing influence of Western celebrations, the organisation is making dedicated efforts to reconnect the younger generation with Bengal’s traditional culture. Speaking about this initiative, Rajib Pal, the head of the organisation, highlighted the growing popularity of Halloween among today’s youth and said, “The excitement and enthusiasm that the present generation shows towards Halloween is remarkable, but unfortunately, many of them do not even have a fraction of an idea about Bhoot Chaturdashi, an important part of Bengali tradition and culture.”
With a firm determination to bring Bengal’s almost-forgotten customs and traditions back into the spotlight, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor organised a special spooky-themed event on October 31 at 3 PM at its Sector V, Salt Lake outlet. The event was designed to offer visitors a unique combination of Bengali folklore, traditional ghost stories, food and entertainment, while highlighting the cultural significance of ghosts and supernatural characters deeply rooted in Bengali storytelling traditions.
The event featured a series of spine-chilling, thrilling yet entertaining stories about ghosts, creating an atmosphere filled with mystery, excitement and fun. One of the major attractions was the special ‘Bhooter Thali’, along with the launch of several interesting food items and a specially curated menu featuring dishes named after different ghost characters. The presence of paranormal experts added another dimension to the programme, while the appearance of the legendary Brahmadaitya and Gechho Bhoot made the occasion even more fascinating and memorable for the guests.
Through this initiative, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor aims not only to entertain people but also to encourage the younger generation to rediscover Bengal’s traditional stories, beliefs, customs and cultural identity. The organisation believes that preserving heritage is equally important in an era when global celebrations and trends are increasingly influencing local traditions. The event therefore served as a creative platform where Bengali culture, folklore and culinary experiences came together in a distinctive way.
As part of this special celebration, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor has invited food lovers and enthusiasts to experience its exclusive ghost-themed culinary offerings from October 31 to November 7 across all its outlets. Visitors will get an opportunity to savour a variety of specially prepared ghost-themed delicacies and enjoy a unique dining experience inspired by the fascinating world of Bengali ghosts and folklore.
