
Kolkata, May 09: In a significant political development for West Bengal, former Bihar Chief Minister and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi arrived in Kolkata today along with the Chief Minister of Bihar aboard a special chartered flight. The leaders received a grand welcome at Kolkata Airport from West Bengal Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) State President Sandeep Dhar, who greeted them with bouquets and traditional shawls amid loud cheers from party workers and supporters.
A large number of supporters gathered at the airport, raising slogans and celebrating the arrival of the senior leaders. Following the reception, Jitan Ram Manjhi, along with other political dignitaries, proceeded to the historic Brigade Parade Ground to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party’s swearing-in ceremony, which witnessed massive public participation and heightened political enthusiasm across the state.
Speaking to the media during the event, Manjhi described the moment as “the beginning of a new political chapter in West Bengal.” He stated that the people of Bengal have expressed a clear desire for change and that the state is now entering a phase focused on development, stability, and improved governance. According to him, the political atmosphere in Bengal reflects a growing aspiration for progress and administrative transformation.
He further expressed confidence that the newly formed government would work sincerely toward the overall development of the state and fulfill the expectations of the people. “The mandate given by the public is a mandate for transformation and growth. The new administration must now ensure that every section of society benefits from better governance and accelerated development,” he said.
The swearing-in ceremony at Brigade Parade Ground turned into a major political show of strength, with leaders from multiple states participating in the event.
