Kolkata, August 20, 2026: Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex (SURTECH), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, welcomed its new batch of students at the Student Induction Programme 2026–27 – “Pehla Kadam”, marking the beginning of their academic journey with a focus on inspiration, exposure and holistic development.
The programme brought together an eminent gathering of personalities from public life, education, spirituality, diplomacy, sports, defence, media and industry, offering students an opportunity to interact with accomplished professionals and gain valuable insights beyond the classroom.

The diverse presence of eminent personalities provided students with broader perspectives on leadership, discipline, perseverance, communication, confidence and professional growth. Their experiences across different fields encouraged students to understand the importance of developing strong values and life skills alongside academic and technical knowledge.
The induction programme also introduced the students to SURTECH’s educational ecosystem, which emphasises academic excellence, holistic development, values and exposure to diverse professional fields. The event marked the first step of a new academic chapter for the students, inspiring them to learn, innovate and prepare for the challenges of the future.
