Kolkata, October 2026: Titan, one of India’s most iconic watchmakers, has taken a significant step forward in mechanical watchmaking with the launch of Vetra, its branded in-house mechanical movement platform. Marking a new chapter in the company’s horological journey, Vetra forms the foundation of the latest Titan Automatics collection, powered by the Vetra 7A series of mechanical movements.

With more than four decades of watchmaking experience, Titan continues to strengthen its capabilities in craftsmanship, engineering and innovation. The introduction of Vetra reflects the brand’s ambition to advance India’s watchmaking ecosystem and establish a stronger presence in the world of modern horology.

The name Vetra draws inspiration from “Veda”, representing the Indian understanding of time as an abundant and eternally renewing cycle, and “Tra”, symbolising an instrument that transforms force into tangible form. Together, the name reflects Titan’s philosophy of combining precision engineering with thoughtful design, bringing mechanical expertise and artistry together in every timepiece.

Commenting on the launch, Rahul Shukla, Vice-President and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Watches Division, Titan Company Limited, said that Vetra represents the potential of Indian watchmaking when engineering ambition meets the confidence to develop capabilities in-house. He highlighted that the initiative strengthens Titan’s position among watchmakers developing their own mechanical movements while contributing to the growth of India’s indigenous horological ecosystem.

The new Titan Automatics collection features four distinct designs — Infinium, Dualis, Midnite and Atrium — each showcasing different capabilities of the Vetra 7A movement architecture. The watches feature 316L surgical-grade stainless-steel cases, domed sapphire crystals with three-layer anti-reflective coating, refined combinations of satin and polished finishes, and Swiss Super-LumiNova X1-grade luminescent detailing for improved readability in low-light conditions.

The Infinium, powered by the Vetra Calibre 7A20+, offers an extended 72-hour power reserve, providing up to three days of running time when fully wound. Its 40 mm case, three-dimensional pressed lacquer dial and diamond-cut hands combine mechanical functionality with sophisticated design.

The Dualis, equipped with the Vetra 7A37 calibre, features a GMT hand and an internal rotating 24-hour bezel, enabling wearers to track a second time zone. The Midnite, powered by the Vetra 7A77 calibre, incorporates a dual-disc big-date display within a 42 mm case, complemented by a vertically patterned dial and faceted hands.

Completing the collection, the Atrium features an offset seconds sub-dial, a knurled bezel and a dual-finish bracelet. Powered by the Vetra 7A200-C in-house calibre, the 42 mm timepiece is available in both concealed and open-heart variants, combining classic design elements with contemporary mechanical watchmaking.

According to Titan, every Vetra movement is hand-assembled and individually tested to meet the stated international standards, including NF S 81-513 and ISO 22810. The development highlights the company’s focus on precision, reliability and quality across its mechanical watchmaking portfolio.

Priced between ₹47,995 and ₹54,995, the new Titan Automatics collection will be available at select Titan World and Helios stores, as well as through Titan’s official website, Titan.co.in. With Vetra at its core, Titan aims to offer watch enthusiasts a distinctive mechanical experience that celebrates both the engineering inside the movement and the craftsmanship visible in the finished timepiece.
