Kolkata, August 2: Dubai-based social worker and prominent philanthropist from Siwan district of Bihar, Akhtar Hussain, who serves as the Chief Advisor of the All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz, visited Kolkata and interacted with leading social workers while touring several educational and social institutions.
During his visit, he met Mamoon Akhtar, Founder Secretary of Samaritan Help Mission in Howrah, and learned about the organization’s efforts towards the education and holistic development of underprivileged and marginalized children. After observing the institution’s activities, Akhtar Hussain praised the institution, saying that such initiatives are inspiring and play a crucial role in uplifting marginalized sections of society.
The meeting was attended by social worker Ashraf Raza Ansari, Abdul Qaiyum Ansari, President of the All India Momin Ansar Sabha (West Bengal), Executive President Mohammad Naeem, and Shamshad Khan Aligarhi. The participants held detailed discussions on issues related to the educational, social, and economic development of the Pasmanda community.
The delegation later visited Kolkata’s historic National Library, where Usman Ghani, Library and Information Officer, welcomed them and briefed them on the library’s various activities. They also toured the recently inaugurated Museum of Word.
Appreciating the initiative, Akhtar Hussain said that the Museum of Word is a remarkable effort to connect the younger generation with language, literature, and history, while promoting knowledge, culture, and intellectual awareness.
