
Kolkata, July 22, 2026: The 4th Kolkata Metiabruz Garments Fair 2026 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at Hall A, Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan (Milan Mela), Kolkata, marking a significant milestone for West Bengal’s thriving garment industry.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent political leaders and public representatives, including Smt. Agnimitra Paul, Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Shri Tapas Roy, Shri Arjun Singh, Shri Nisith Pramanik, Shri Umesh Rai, and Dr. Indranil Khan. The event was presided over by Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh.
Bringing together garment manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, buyers, exporters, and industry stakeholders from across India, the fair aims to showcase the strength of the Metiabruz garment hub while promoting the sector on both national and international platforms.
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that the exhibition is designed to strengthen business networking, facilitate new trade partnerships, expand market opportunities, and enhance the global reach of Metiabruz’s garment industry. The fair is also expected to generate fresh employment opportunities and contribute significantly to the economic growth of the textile and apparel sector.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading garment manufacturing clusters, Metiabruz continues to play a vital role in India’s apparel industry. The organisers expressed confidence that this year’s edition will further boost investments, encourage innovation, and open new avenues for business collaboration.
