Lanka Premier League Receives Major Financial Boost as IPG Group Secures Multimillion-Dollar Strategic Funding

Colombo, June 15, 2026: Just weeks before the start of Lanka Premier League Season 6 on July 10, the tournament has received a significant financial boost. The league’s promoters, Innovative Production Group (IPG), have secured multimillion-dollar strategic funding through a new partnership with a U.S.-listed entity.

IPG has successfully completed its strategic all-stock merger with Flash Sports & Media, bringing its portfolio of T20 league commercial rights—including the Lanka Premier League—under the NASDAQ-listed platform UGRO.

As part of the new structure, IPG has committed USD 20 million over the next two years to enhance and expand the Lanka Premier League. The investment is expected to strengthen the league’s commercial ecosystem, increase franchise value, and elevate its global profile.

Anil Mohan, Founder and Chairman of IPG Global, said the LPL would be the biggest beneficiary of the development, adding that the move provides greater transparency, stronger governance, and improved access to capital for long-term growth.

While the intellectual property of the LPL remains owned by Sri Lanka Cricket, IPG continues to hold the league’s exclusive commercial and media rights, now backed by institutional capital and a publicly governed framework.

Beyond Sri Lanka, IPG also holds long-term exclusive agreements to develop T20 leagues in Malaysia and Zimbabwe. The group plans to expand its footprint across these emerging cricket markets, creating an integrated multi-market cricket enterprise.

Bradley Nattrass, CEO of Flash Sports & Media, said the partnership would accelerate growth across multiple cricket economies through stronger sponsorship integration, enhanced broadcast partnerships, and deeper fan engagement. CFO Eric Sherb added that the public-market structure would support disciplined investment and long-term revenue generation.

The combined platform aims to centralize commercial monetization across leagues, upgrade broadcast production to 4K standards, and build sustainable recurring revenue streams while driving long-term asset appreciation.
