26 May 2026: has announced a major expansion of its Maharaja Club loyalty programme, allowing members to earn and redeem Maharaja Points on flights for the first time. The move strengthens integration within the Air India Group and enhances benefits for frequent flyers travelling across South, Southeast and West Asia.

Under the new integration, Maharaja Club members can now earn Maharaja Points and Tier Points on Air India Express-operated flights booked through Air India and Air India Express websites, mobile apps, and leading travel agents. Eligible Air India Express flights will also contribute toward tier progression, helping members reach Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers faster.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, and Chairman, Air India Express, said:
“Our focus is on continually expanding Maharaja Club in a way that ensures our loyal customers’ travel experiences across destinations contribute meaningfully to their relationship with the Air India Group. The growing scale of the Air India Express network makes the introduction of accruals and redemptions on these flights both timely and important.”

The updated rewards structure allows members to earn points on various fare categories, including student, senior citizen, and armed forces fares. Members booking through the Air India Express website and app can earn up to 12 Maharaja Points per INR 100 spent depending on their membership tier.

In another major benefit, Maharaja Club members can now redeem points for Air India Express-operated codeshare flights carrying Air India’s ‘AI’ flight code. Redemption pricing starts from just 1,500 Maharaja Points on select domestic routes such as Bengaluru–Chennai and Dimapur–Guwahati, while international sectors like Bengaluru–Bangkok and Mumbai–Abu Dhabi begin at 12,000 points.

The Air India Group has also confirmed that future phases of integration will introduce premium customer benefits including priority check-in, priority boarding, seat selection, and cancellation flexibility for eligible Maharaja Club members travelling on Air India Express flights.
