In an emotional tribute to motherhood, compassion, and resilience, Manipal Hospitals EM Bypass organised a special Mother’s Day celebration titled “To the First Healers in Every Doctor’s Life.” The event honoured mothers whose sacrifices, guidance, and unconditional support helped shape some of the hospital’s leading doctors into compassionate caregivers.
The programme brought together inspiring women from diverse walks of life who have broken social barriers while balancing motherhood with determination and courage. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Nandini Bhowmik, renowned Indologist, thespian and Sanskrit scholar; China Pal, acclaimed idol maker; Pratima Podder; and Manasi Mridha — women whose journeys inspired the audience with stories of perseverance, strength, and dedication.
During the heartfelt ceremony, mothers of several doctors from the hospital were felicitated by patients as a mark of gratitude for nurturing the healers who continue to dedicate their lives to patient care every day. The honoured doctors included Dr. Pooja Agarwal, Dr. Shaswati Sengupta Datta, Dr. Niladri Konar, Dr. Souptik Gangopadhyay, and Dr. Sayan Das.

The doctors shared deeply personal memories about the role their mothers played in shaping their journeys — from supporting years of rigorous academic training to instilling empathy, discipline, resilience, and compassion. The event celebrated the silent sacrifices of mothers who remain the emotional backbone of families and communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nandini Bhowmik said that motherhood represents one of the purest and most selfless forms of love and care, adding that behind every successful individual stands a woman whose sacrifices often go unseen yet remain invaluable.
The initiative highlighted the human side of healthcare, reinforcing Manipal Hospitals’ commitment towards empathy, gratitude, and community connection beyond clinical treatment.
