Platform 8, the OTT arm of Bengal’s leading general entertainment channel Aakash Aath, today announced an ambitious line-up of seven original Bengali web series slated for release in 2026. The grand announcement was made at a star-studded press conference held at Nandan, Kolkata, marking one of the most significant programming expansions in the platform’s journey so far.
The event witnessed the unveiling of trailers and posters of four upcoming originals—Ichchepuran, Khanikta Premer Moto, Nisith Sen and Swargarath Sargaram—while three additional series—Morali, Patal Jhor and Amar—were officially announced.
The press meet was attended by a galaxy of noted actors, directors and creators from the Bengali film and digital industry, reflecting Platform 8’s growing stature as a key destination for premium regional storytelling.
Vision for 2026
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Priyanka Bardia, Director, Platform 8 & Aakash Aath, said:

Highlights of the Upcoming Originals
Nisith Sen
A spine-chilling paranormal thriller, Nisith Sen follows the eerie journey of a police officer’s daughter who becomes haunted by a mysterious entity. As disturbing visions intensify, shocking revelations unravel through the lens of parapsychology, blending fear, emotion and suspense.
The series is directed by Sushobhon Das and features a strong ensemble cast led by Fahim Mirza, Bias Dhar and Sumit Kumar Roy.
Khanikta Premer Moto
A romantic, feel-good drama with a modern twist, this series explores love, heartbreak and second chances. What begins as a breakup getaway transforms into an unexpected matchmaking mission, reaffirming that imperfect relationships can still find perfect endings.
Directed by Rahool Mukherjee, the series stars Rahul Deb Bose and Megha Chowdhury in lead roles.
Ichchepuran
Delving into the eternal conflict between destiny and desire, Ichchepuran narrates the story of an ordinary insurance agent whose life changes after discovering a mysterious stone that brings success—at a terrible cost. The morally charged narrative examines greed, conscience and redemption.
The series is directed by veteran filmmaker Haranath Chakraborty.
Swargarath Sargaram
A poignant, heart-warming tale, this series chronicles a middle-aged man’s struggle to support his family after purchasing a third-hand hearse for livelihood. Battling superstition, controversy and social resistance, the story celebrates faith, resilience and transformation within a rural setting.
Directed by Arijeet Toton Chakraborty, the series features Lokenath Dey and an accomplished supporting cast.
Premiere Dates Announced
- Nisith Sen premieres on January 2, 2026, opening the year with mystery and fear.
- Khanikta Premer Moto will stream from February 14, 2026, celebrating the spirit of love on Valentine’s Day.
- The remaining titles—Ichchepuran, Swargarath Sargaram, Morali, Patal Jhor and Amar—will roll out progressively through 2026.
