In a landmark moment for Tripura’s higher education landscape, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, inaugurated the newly developed infrastructure of Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) at the Techno India Knowledge Campus, Maheshkhola, Agartala. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the event represented “a momentous step forward in Tripura’s educational landscape.” He highlighted the rapid growth in demand for higher education in the state and appreciated that the Techno India Knowledge Campus now accommodates nearly 2,500 students from across India. He further commended TIUT’s proactive adoption of NEP 2020.

In his welcome address, Prof. Satyam Roychowdhury expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Tripura, the Chief Minister, academic partners, and the people of the state for their constant support.
He reflected on Techno India’s long-standing association with Tripura, tracing its journey from the state’s first computer training centre in 1988 to today’s full-fledged university campus, describing it as “a continuing journey of dreams and possibilities.”
Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Hon’ble Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, emphasised that the growth of a university depends on academic innovation, meaningful research, responsible administration, and the integration of emerging domains like AI, technology, sustainability, and environmental awareness.
Other dignitaries also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the University’s role in shaping future talent in Tripura.
Cultural Evening & Campus Illumination
The celebrations continued from 3:00 PM with a spectacular Cultural Evening and Campus Illumination ceremony.
Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister of Power; Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare; Law & Parliamentary Affairs; and Election, Government of Tripura, graced the event as Chief Guest.
Prof. (Dr.) Arunoday Saha, Former Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University, joined as Guest of Honour, while Shri Pranab Sarkar, President of the Agartala Press Club, attended as Special Guest.
A major infrastructural advancement—the 33 kV Dual-Feeding Indoor Substation—was inaugurated during the evening session, ensuring enhanced energy reliability and supporting the future expansion of the campus.
