Mumbai, 31 August 2025: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday attended a series of events across Baramati and Pune districts, ranging from Ganeshotsav celebrations to farmer-centric programmes, while also reviewing local development initiatives.
At the Malegaon Sugar Factory in Baramati, Ganeshotsav was celebrated with fervour. On the occasion, Pawar inaugurated a sugarcane nursery set up under the Sustainable Sugarcane Production Increase Committee. The project is aimed at providing farmers with high-quality, disease-free seedlings to improve productivity and promote sustainable farming practices. Emphasising the need for long-term planning, Pawar said, “Keeping the next 50 years in mind, carrying out quality developmental work is our true identity. Accelerating development across Maharashtra is our ultimate goal.”
In Indapur Taluka’s Bhavani Nagar, Pawar attended a Shetkari Melava (Farmers’ Meet) and Agricultural Exhibition organised by Shri Chhatrapati Cooperative Sugar Factory Ltd. The event focused on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in sugarcane farming. Pawar reviewed modern equipment and urged farmers to adopt AI-driven methods for improved production, while reiterating the government’s focus on water management and technology-based support for the farming community.
Later, in Kanheri village of Baramati Taluka, the Deputy CM visited Shri Kshetra Kanheri’s Hanuman Mandir, where he offered prayers and inspected local development works. He also reviewed progress at the Kanheri Forest Garden, where he distributed certificates to 14 trainees at the closing ceremony of an Adventure Sports Training Camp organised by the Adventure and Nature Club. Pawar said such initiatives would create employment for the youth and boost Baramati’s tourism potential.
Continuing his tour, he inspected the upcoming Shivsrushti Historical Theme Park, designed to showcase replicas of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s royal court, Agra Darbar, Raigad Fort, naval arrangements, and historic battles. Pawar stated that Shivsrushti would not only connect tourists with history but also inspire future generations. He later visited Tiranga Chowk of Babalal Kakade Neerakal Society, suggesting further improvements to the site.
Ganeshotsav, which holds deep cultural and spiritual significance in Maharashtra, was a recurring theme throughout Pawar’s day-long engagements. The festival, celebrated across the state with grandeur, continues to unite communities under the devotional chant, “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
