DTPA Annual Conference 2025 to be Held in Kolkata on August 23

Kolkata, August 20, 2025: The Direct Taxes Professionals’ Association (DTPA) will host its Annual Conference 2025 in Kolkata on Saturday, August 23, at the Taj Bengal Hotel.

Announcing the event, CA Barkha Agrawal, President of DTPA, said the theme of the conference will be “Tax, Tech & Transformation – Redefining Professional Excellence.” Founder General Secretary and Chairman of the Media Relations Committee, Adv. Narayan Jain, noted that DTPA was established on August 28, 1982, and today has more than 2,000 members, including Advocates, Chartered Accountants, and Company Secretaries. He added that the Annual Conference is a flagship event of the association. This year, eminent industrialist Padma Shri Sajjan Bhajanka has been invited as the Chief Guest.

CA SK Sultania, Chairman of the Conference Committee, informed that the technical sessions will cover a wide range of significant issues. Key discussions will include topics such as Benami, Income Tax, Black Money, and the interplay of Income Tax with Allied Laws, chaired by Rakesh Mishra, Accountant Member, ITAT Kolkata, with Adv. (CA) Ashwani Taneja, Ex-Member, ITAT, as speaker. Another important session on Penalty & Prosecution under GST – A Legal & Practical Perspective will be presided over by Senior Advocate Vipul Kundalia, with Sujit Ghosh, Senior Advocate, Delhi, as the speaker.

Sessions on emerging trends will also be a highlight. CA Rohit Pradhan, Jaipur, will address the topic “Artificial Intelligence, Analytics & Automation – The New Frontier for Finance Professionals.” CA Vijay Srinivas Kothapalli, Hyderabad, will speak on “Future-Proof Your Finance Career – Tech, AI & Cyber Risk Advisory in 2025.” A Fireside Chat titled “From Balance Sheets to Botnets – The Expanding Battlefield of the Modern Finance Professionals” will be moderated by CA Sanjib Sanghi, with CA Rohit Pradhan and CA Vijay Srinivas Kothapalli as speakers.

Highlighting the relevance of these topics, DTPA Vice President Manjulata Shukla and Media Committee Convenor CA KN Gupta informed that over 450 delegates from across India are expected to participate.

The conference will conclude with a vote of thanks by CA Shyam Agarwal, General Secretary, who appreciated the overwhelming response from professionals nationwide.
