Kolkata, July 7, 2025:
A glorious new chapter has begun for one of Kolkata’s most iconic educational landmarks Tirthapati Institution in Ballygunge as Dabur India Limited and Ennoble Social Innovation Foundation unveiled its newly transformed campus, turning the clock forward for over 2,200 students who now walk into a brighter, safer, and more inspiring space.
In a powerful collaboration blending corporate responsibility with grassroots impact, the upgrade comes as part of Dabur’s CSR commitment to “Enabling Education & Empowering Communities” and Ennoble’s mission of building future-ready, lovable institutions.
Despite its stellar heritage with ties to Rabindranath Tagore and legends like R.D. Burman and Pradeep Kumar the school struggled with basic infrastructure, like many government institutions in India. According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), just 26.5% of schools in West Bengal have usable toilets for girls, and only 34% are secured by boundary walls.
The upgraded campus directly addresses these critical gaps through targeted, sustainable interventions:
🌟 Key Transformations at a Glance:
- Structural Uplift: Complete redoing of plasterwork, fresh coat of exterior paint, and walls adorned with vibrant, student-centered artwork transforming the space into a visual delight.
- Sanitation Revamp: Overhauled toilets across all three floors with modern plumbing, tiling, urinals, partitions, ventilators, and waterproofing with special emphasis on dignity and hygiene for girls and younger children.
- Enhanced Safety & Accessibility: Repairs and upgrades to ramps, doors, grills, and windows, ensuring inclusive access for all students, including those with disabilities.
The revitalization strongly aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, which champions inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
Mohit Malhotra, CEO, Dabur India Ltd, shared:
“We are immensely proud to play a part in redefining the learning experience at Tirthapati Institution. Education is the bedrock of societal progress, and every child deserves a nurturing environment. With this initiative, we hope to ignite aspirations and help shape confident, future-ready generations.”
Chirag Bhandari, CEO, Ennoble Social Innovation Foundation, said:
“This is more than just infrastructure it’s about restoring pride, hope, and possibility. Our partnership with Dabur proves that legacy and innovation can coexist. We’re determined to take this model to schools across India and impact learning outcomes for thousands more.”
