West Bengal Budget 2026–27 Boosts Power Infrastructure and Digital Growth Vision: Laser Power & Infra

Kolkata | June 22, 2026

The West Bengal State Budget 2026–27 has drawn strong appreciation from the infrastructure and power sector, with industry leaders highlighting its focus on modernisation, efficiency, and future-ready energy systems.

Reacting to the announcements, Deepak Goel said the budget lays a “strong foundation for infrastructure-led growth” and significantly strengthens the state’s power distribution ecosystem.

He pointed to the proposal for 15 new 33/11 KV substations and large-scale underground cabling projects across 12 towns, calling it a decisive step towards improving electricity reliability, reducing transmission losses, and enhancing overall distribution efficiency across urban and semi-urban regions.

Goel also welcomed the government’s proposed ease of doing business reforms and the introduction of a single-window clearance system, stating that these measures are expected to accelerate project approvals, improve execution timelines, and create a more investor-friendly industrial environment in the state.

Highlighting the long-term digital vision, he noted West Bengal’s ambition to emerge as a hub for AI-driven data centres and hyperscale cloud infrastructure, adding that robust and high-quality power infrastructure will play a critical role in enabling this transformation.

As an integrated player in power cables, conductors, and EPC solutions, Laser Power & Infra reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the state’s infrastructure expansion through innovative and future-ready energy solutions.
