
Kolkata: A special karate training session was successfully conducted for residents of B.D. Block, Salt Lake, under the expert guidance of Hanshi Premjit Sen, President of the Karate-Do Association of Bengal. The initiative aimed to create awareness about effective self-defence techniques through structured and disciplined training.
The session emphasised practical self-defence skills, mental discipline, and physical fitness, equipping participants with essential techniques to enhance personal safety and confidence. Trainers demonstrated real-life defensive strategies while encouraging regular practice and physical conditioning as part of a holistic lifestyle.
The programme was organised by Ratna Bhowmick, Councillor of Ward 41 under the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of Sujit Bose, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Fire and Emergency Services, Government of West Bengal.
Residents, including youth and women, participated enthusiastically in the session, reflecting a growing community commitment towards self-protection, empowerment, and overall well-being. The initiative was widely appreciated as a significant step towards fostering a safer and more resilient neighbourhood.
