Kolkata, 27 May, 2025 — The 26th Russian Education Fair 2025 was inaugurated in Kolkata today, organized by the Russian House in collaboration with Rus Education. Held at the Russian House, Gorky Sadan, the event was graced by Mr. Maxim V. Kozlov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, and Ms. Ekaterina Tyurina, Vice Consul of the Consulate General.
The education fair is part of a nationwide initiative that will also cover cities like New Delhi, Patna, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, and Jaipur. It is aimed at assisting Indian students who are interested in pursuing higher education in Russia, particularly in fields such as medicine, engineering, and aviation.
Participating institutions from Russia included B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University, Orenburg State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, Pskov State University, and Mari State University.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Reshma Ali, Regional Manager of Rus Education, highlighted Russia’s growing appeal as a destination for quality yet affordable education. “Russia is home to some of the leading medical universities globally,” she said. “This fair provides a platform for students to explore opportunities, get exposure, and fulfill their dreams of studying abroad.”
The fair allowed aspiring students to interact directly with representatives from top Russian universities. Free career counseling, expert guidance, information on scholarships, admissions, visa assistance, accommodation, and document preparation were all available under one roof.
