JIS Group has officially launched its Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre, titled “Made in JIS,” at the Austin Tower campus in New Town, Kolkata, marking a major step toward strengthening the startup and innovation ecosystem in Eastern India.
The initiative has been designed to support student entrepreneurs, early-stage startups, and industry-driven innovation by creating a collaborative platform that connects founders, corporates, investors, incubators, and academic institutions under one ecosystem.
The launch event witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Shri Arjun Vaidya, Co-Founder of V3 Ventures and Founder of Dr. Vaidya’s, Shri Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Executive Director of Techno India Group, Shri Manoj Khosla, Director of Khosla Group, and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Director of JIS Group, along with other notable guests from the entrepreneurial and academic sectors.
The newly launched Centre aims to transform innovative ideas into scalable ventures through structured mentorship, industry exposure, strategic guidance, and entrepreneurial resources. JIS stated that the platform has been conceptualized as an innovation hub that nurtures creativity, collaboration, and startup culture among young innovators.
To support entrepreneurs at different stages, the Centre will operate through two dedicated programmes. The Pre-Incubation Programme will focus on idea validation, startup fundamentals, mentorship, and entrepreneurial orientation for students. Meanwhile, the Growth Track Programme has been designed for execution-focused startups, helping them with product-market fit, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, business expansion, and scalability.
A major highlight of the initiative is its emphasis on mentorship and founder-led learning. Through interactive sessions with entrepreneurs, investors, business operators, and industry leaders, participants will gain practical exposure and networking opportunities essential for startup growth.
The Centre will also introduce a Corporate Innovation Programme, enabling corporates and institutions to collaborate with startups and students in solving real-world industry challenges, conducting pilot projects, and driving innovation-led solutions.
Speaking at the launch, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Director of JIS Group, said the Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre reflects JIS’s commitment to building a strong innovation ecosystem where students and young founders receive the right mentorship, exposure, and opportunities to create impactful ventures.
She further emphasized that the initiative aims to make entrepreneurial learning more accessible, collaborative, and experience-driven, inspiring the next generation to think beyond conventional paths and develop solutions with real-world impact.
