Kolkata, April 13, 2026: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reinforced its commitment to seamless LPG and fuel supply across India, while implementing a strict zero-tolerance policy against irregularities in its distribution network. The move highlights the company’s strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and consumer trust during periods of peak demand.
High-Volume Supply Amid Rising Demand
Between April 1 and 12, HPCL supplied over 12 lakh KL of fuel, marking one of its highest distribution cycles. Petrol sales stood at 4,60,508 KL, while diesel sales reached 8,34,126 KL—indicating robust mobility demand across regions. To support this surge, the company mobilized 80,529 tankers, ensuring uninterrupted and real-time supply across its vast retail network.
Peak Efficiency in LPG Distribution
In the LPG segment, HPCL delivered 154.2 lakh cylinders nationwide within just 12 days, ensuring consistent availability for households. Strengthening last-mile connectivity, the company also distributed 3.32 lakh 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders and 0.21 lakh 2 kg cylinders, particularly benefiting migrant workers and underserved communities.
Digital Push Enhances Transparency
HPCL’s operations are increasingly powered by digital integration, with 99.5% of LPG bookings now made through platforms such as IVRS, SMS, WhatsApp, and HP PAY. Delivery authentication through DAC/OTP mechanisms has further improved transparency, efficiency, and reliability in customer service.
Strict Vigilance and Enforcement Drive
Reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance, HPCL conducted 4,897 inspections and 660 raids between March 14 and April 12. The crackdown led to action against 110 distributors, suspension of 30 distributorships, registration of 41 FIRs, and seizure of 3,674 LPG cylinders. These measures underline the company’s strong vigilance framework aimed at protecting consumer interests and maintaining system integrity.
Stable Supply, No Cause for Concern
HPCL has assured that fuel and LPG supplies remain stable and adequate nationwide. The company attributed temporary pressure in select areas to short-term demand spikes and precautionary buying, rather than any systemic disruption. Consumers have been advised to avoid panic buying and rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.
Driving Reliable and Responsible Energy Delivery
With a strategic blend of operational scale, digital innovation, and strict enforcement, HPCL continues to meet India’s energy demands efficiently and responsibly. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of sustainable growth, enhanced service delivery, and maintaining the highest safety standards—even under peak demand conditions.
