HPCL Ensures Uninterrupted Fuel & LPG Supply; Over 4,000 Inspections Conducted Nationwide

Kolkata, April 5, 2026: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted fuel and LPG supply across India, while intensifying action against malpractices in the distribution system.

According to the company, on April 4, 2026, HPCL recorded sales of 38,986 KL (over 3.8 crore litres) of petrol and 69,357 KL (over 6.9 crore litres) of diesel, serving more than 1.94 crore customers nationwide in a single day. To ensure seamless distribution, nearly 9,951 fuel tankers were deployed to retail outlets across the country.

In the LPG segment, the company delivered approximately 14.4 lakh cylinders on the same day, maintaining stable and adequate supply levels. Additionally, HPCL supplied 31,786 units of 5 kg and 2,383 units of 2 kg free trade LPG cylinders, reinforcing its logistics efficiency.

HPCL stated that domestic LPG availability remains steady despite ongoing global geopolitical uncertainties, with supply operations under continuous monitoring.

To enhance transparency and customer convenience, the company reported that nearly 94% of LPG refill bookings are now made through digital platforms such as HP PAY, IVRS, SMS, WhatsApp, and missed call services. Deliveries are secured through OTP-based authentication, ensuring safe and verified transactions.

On the enforcement front, HPCL has significantly stepped up vigilance measures. Between March 14 and April 4, 2026, the company conducted over 4,028 inspections and initiated action against 53 distributors, including the suspension of 20 distributorships.

In coordination with other oil marketing companies and state authorities, enforcement teams have carried out 653 raids, registered 40 FIRs, and seized more than 3,163 LPG cylinders to curb illegal practices.

HPCL has urged customers to rely only on official communication channels, avoid panic booking, and report any irregularities through its toll-free helpline or official website.

The company reiterated that there is no shortage of LPG, and it remains fully committed to ensuring transparent distribution, uninterrupted supply, and strict action against malpractice.
