Kolkata, 13 October 2025: In a continued effort to promote safer roads and responsible mobility, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) conducted a road safety awareness program at St. Mary’s Convent School, Kolkata, engaging over 2,300 students.
The initiative aimed to instil the importance of responsible road behaviour among young minds through interactive sessions, practical learning, and engaging discussions. Students were introduced to the basics of safe riding, pedestrian discipline, and mindfulness on the road, encouraging them to see road safety as a culture to embrace rather than a rule to follow.
Participants also experienced Honda’s virtual riding simulator, designed to expose them to over 100 possible road dangers before actual riding. Additionally, Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) — a Japanese technique for danger prediction — helped students improve awareness and response to on-road risks.
Aligned with Honda’s global vision of zero traffic fatalities by 2050 and the Government of India’s goal to halve road fatalities by 2030, HMSI continues to make road safety education accessible through 10 Traffic Training Parks, 6 Safety Driving Education Centers, and its digital learning platform E-Gurukul.
Available in multiple languages, E-Gurukul provides age-specific road safety modules for children aged 5 to 18 years and can be accessed at egurukul.honda.hmsi.in. So far, HMSI’s nationwide initiatives have reached over 10 million Indians, reaffirming its commitment to creating a safer, more responsible society.
