GNIDSR Unveils ‘Dr. Molar Bear’ to Champion Oral Health Awareness on World Oral Health Day 2026

Kolkata, March 20, 2026: The Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (GNIDSR), an initiative under the JIS Group, marked World Oral Health Day 2026 with the launch of an innovative awareness campaign featuring a unique and engaging character — ‘Dr. Molar Bear’.

Developed around the global theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life,” Dr. Molar Bear is a creative educational mascot designed to promote oral hygiene in a relatable and impactful way. The character’s story revolves around a journey from suffering severe dental pain to undergoing successful treatment, ultimately inspiring him to become a dentist dedicated to spreading awareness about oral health.

Through this imaginative concept, students of GNIDSR effectively showcased various branches of dentistry, simplifying complex dental concepts for the general public. The initiative emphasized the importance of preventive dental care while making the learning process interactive and accessible.

The campaign was particularly aimed at engaging children and young adults, using storytelling and character-driven communication to instill healthy dental habits from an early age. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who actively conducted awareness activities and encouraged the community to adopt better oral hygiene practices.

Addressing the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh stated,
“Initiatives like Dr. Molar Bear reflect the innovative spirit of our students and their commitment to community healthcare. By blending creativity with education, they have successfully conveyed an important message on oral hygiene in a manner that is both engaging and impactful. At JIS Group, we remain committed to encouraging such meaningful efforts that contribute to a healthier society.”

The initiative stands as a testament to GNIDSR’s continued efforts to integrate education with community outreach, reinforcing the message that good oral health is essential for overall well-being.
