Kolkata, India | 8 January 2026
The 6th International Conference of the Global Cancer Consortium (GCC 2026) and the 15th East Zonal Oncology Symposium (EZOS), in association with the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), will be held on 9–10 January 2026 in Kolkata. The prestigious international gathering is being hosted by the Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute (SGCCRI), one of eastern India’s leading comprehensive cancer care institutions.
Titled “Personalized Therapy in the Era of Precision Oncology: A Glimpse into the Future,” the conference will bring together leading scientists, clinicians, researchers, industry innovators, and policymakers from across the world. GCC–EZOS 2026 aims to serve as a premier global platform to advance personalized cancer diagnosis, treatment, and prevention through cutting-edge science, technology, and collaborative innovation.
A Legacy of Compassionate Cancer Care
The host institution, Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute—formerly known as the Cancer Welfare Home and Research Institute and widely recognized as Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital—was founded in 1973 by visionary radiotherapist Dr. Saroj Gupta. Established to serve cancer patients who were unable to access treatment in government hospitals, the institute began as a modest 25-bed facility providing shelter and care to patients from remote rural areas. Over five decades, it has grown into a 311-bed, fully equipped comprehensive cancer hospital, playing a pivotal role in cancer care, research, and education in eastern India.
Advancing Precision Oncology
Precision oncology is rapidly transforming cancer care by tailoring treatments based on individual genetic, molecular, and clinical profiles. GCC–EZOS 2026 will spotlight the latest breakthroughs in genomics, biomarkers, artificial intelligence, immunotherapy, targeted therapeutics, surgical oncology, and translational research, bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical application.

Speaking on the significance of the conference, Dr. Vivek Rangnekar, Founding Chair of the Global Cancer Consortium, along with Dr. Amab Gupta, Director of SGCCRI and Chairperson of the Organising Committee, stated:
“This conference is designed to accelerate collaboration across disciplines and borders. By bringing together global leaders in precision oncology, we aim to translate innovation into real-world impact for patients worldwide.”
