Bengaluru, February 17, 2026: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) has announced the launch of its new PGDM in Entrepreneurship for Tech Startups, an AICTE-approved management programme aimed at empowering technology professionals to transform innovative ideas into scalable business ventures. The announcement was made in Bengaluru, India’s leading technology and startup hub, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Designed to bridge the gap between technology expertise and entrepreneurial capability, the programme offers structured learning, industry mentorship, incubation, and venture-building support. It focuses on high-growth sectors such as EdTech, HealthTech, FinTech, AI-driven enterprises, and digital platforms, preparing participants to build future-ready startups.
Practical, Venture-Focused Curriculum
The Tech Startups specialisation has been developed with a hands-on, execution-driven approach. Participants will gain competencies in:
- Opportunity identification and validation
- Feasibility assessment
- Business model creation
- Product development lifecycle
- Funding readiness and investor pitching
- Go-to-market and scaling strategies
The curriculum aims not just to teach entrepreneurship but to enable learners to actively build and launch ventures during the programme.
Leadership Perspective
Speaking on the launch, EDII Director General Dr. Sunil Shukla said Bengaluru was a natural choice for introducing the specialisation, given its position at the centre of India’s startup ecosystem.
He emphasised that young professionals today increasingly view entrepreneurship as a purpose-driven career path. The institute, he noted, is committed to creating structured pathways that contribute to national economic growth and support India’s long-term development vision.
Legacy Programme with Proven Outcomes
The two-year PGDM in Entrepreneurship, first introduced in 1998, remains one of India’s most focused entrepreneurship programmes. It is:
- Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
- Accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA)
- Recognised as MBA-equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
With more than 2,200 alumni—approximately 79% of whom are active entrepreneurs—the programme follows a milestone-based pedagogy that enables students to build enterprises while studying.
Support mechanisms include:
- Structured mentoring
- Sector immersion in real industries
- Incubation via the Centre for Advancing and Launching Enterprises (CALEL)
- Seed funding linked to venture milestones
Multiple Entrepreneurial Pathways
Alongside the new Tech Startups track, students can specialise in:
- New Enterprise Creation
- Family Business Management
- Social Entrepreneurship
This multi-track structure allows participants to tailor their entrepreneurial journey based on sector interest and business background.
